PICA è un progetto artistico nato nel 2012, dalla collaborazione tra l’artista Carlos Lalvay Estrada, e Pietro Repetto tecnico della stampa fotografica antica.
Il progetto si configura come il recupero di una delle più antiche tecniche di stampa fotografica in una chiave nuova e quasi inesplorata, prestandosi ottimamente alla riproduzione di disegni al tratto.

Project informations:
PICA is an artistic project born in 2012. It’s the result of a collaboration between the artist Carlos Lalvay Estrada, and Pietro Repetto, a technician of ancient photographic printing. The project aims to recover one of the oldest photographic printing techniques using it in a new and almost unexplored way: the reproduction of drawings and works of art through cyanotype. This process was discovered in 1842 by the British astronomer and chemist John Herschel and in PICA, after more than 150 years, it has found new paths and a new life…
